Tyler's Sonnet

Novocaine filled dead end veins inside my mind, there's no escape
Writing poems numbs the pain but tear drops still fall on my page
The ink runs and fades away but the memories of you forever remain
Heart-string torn by your heavy blade until my existence is blood-stained
I'm sitting by the Styx with stones in my pockets
Waiting for the ferry but I might start walking
Playing love games but I'm turning over a new fold
Searching in the ashes of our life together trying to bring it back to gold
Born with wings of led and broken bones
There's no hope to pull myself out of the self dug hole
So, remember my name and watch your step
I'd hate for you to fall down to these depths
Set fire to what I leave behind, and scatter the bones
I'm tired of walking in circles, boring holes in my soul
