Another Fall

Waiting on the darkened screen
To tell me what I want to try to say
And when you rely too much upon it
That is when it is most likely to give way
When it comes in images and words
That somehow moves themselves across the page
It's just the fantasy you force upon yourself
To make it through the day

You didn't ever think you'd see it all
Spread out before you like the coming day
So you keep your mouth shut as you crawl
After all it's a waste to say

If you've got some spare time
Could you teach me to realign
My cells against the grain?
I've seen it done before
The disparate aspects of the core
That join to make the chain
Then it can come again to surface
From the waters of intent within my brain
As we take cover in the comfort of our solitude
You know it's not the same

You think we're gonna live to see the fall
Of all the structures that we push away
It's just a figment after all
Can't recall that's the price you pay
