I heard this old man say
He said, "been sitting here for 25 years"
Still nothing's changed"

So i looked this man in the eye
I said, "mister please don't you cry"
"because you're tears will fall but no one will care"

The price you pay remains a debt
Eyes you dry stay wet
You begin to regret promises kept
And the only reward is that you get to be
Crazy like me

He laughed and said,
"little girl, you've got nothing on me
"'cause i've seen the world thrice over
I'm not impressed."

So i took this man by the hand
I needed him to comprehend
Though my life's been short my pain's been long

I saw a rain cloud form over his head
So ashamed at what i had done
I disturbed this man's peace of mind
He looked upset
