Headless

There once was a painter, nobody looked up to him
However, one of his lesser pieces had made it into a museum
Didn't get much attention
For some reason, kids loved it
They'd often say it was their favorite piece in the building
What do they know, they're just children?
Every night, light shone from the room the painting was hung
But when they checked where it came from, the light dissapeared
Nobody was sure if there even was a light in the first place
When the guards glanced at the painting it would seem rather dark
When they saw it from the corner of their eyes
The painting shimmered a non-existing light
