I Remember (Interlude)
I remember waking up for school thinking bout flows to spit
At the bus stop, 5 below; cold as brick
Durag over my waves for the hoes I get
Dressed as if clothes that fit don't' exist
Walking hallways half-naked, frozen stiff
They had G hella thristy to make em moan a bit
I been a G way before Google Chrome and shit
Herringbone on my neck, car phone in whip
A 95' Caravan; we hit the road then dipped
But I was just a passenger, my momma drove it slick
And the phone was just a joke like a circus trick
Cuz it was only there for show, it didn't work a lick
The herringbone on my neck, I didn't purchase it
I caught somebody slippin, and to shine was worth the risk
Sticky fingers in my youth, if I wanted it then I grabbed two
But eventually I was simply stealing cuz I had to
Milk and eggs in my triple fat gooses' pockets
The same time the league champs were the Houston Rockets
I was a booster, there was nothing you could do to stop it
Selling products hot in order to pursue a profit
Then be in church pews ignoring all the foolish gossip
When mom passed it had me mad enough to shoot a prophet
At least he thought he was cuz this is what this man told me
He said my mother would be here physically to mold me
Into a man, and when I needed her the most then hold me
But in her opticals, the opposite is what they showed me
I swear this shit has only taught me lies
When mom died I looked deep into her glossy eyes
So God spoke and said she wouldn't die a day before?
And I'm supposed to trust in him, have faith and more?
