Earworm

Well this melody has me I can't get it out of my head where it festers and repeats itself
Though I Move it and Grove it in infinite ways it consistently overwrites every phrase
And every time I try to break free with a fresh melodic stream it just superimposes it's theme

Well they call it an earworm
But they can't explain how it's reaping it's havoc now right through my brain
First it went through my left lobe and now through my right
I believe it is slowly impairing my sight
Oh I used to be so normal
But now how do they explain that this earworm just drives me insane

Now it keeps getting louder and drowns out the rest of my thoughts
I can't hear them though I try my best
When you talk please have patience for I can not hear
Cause your words all get muddled though they're plain and clear
I will try my best to listen
But it keeps dragging me away and prevents me from hearing what you have to say

I admit when it first came to me
I enjoyed how it twisted and turned on the notes it employed
But the dizzying winding is now very quickly just turning my stomach and making me sick
How I wish another song could come and save my battered ears
I think this one could go on for years

Well this melody has me
I can't get it out of my head where it festers and repeats itself
Though I Move it and Grove it in infinite ways it consistently overwrites every phrase
And every time I try to break free with a fresh melodic stream
It just superimposes it's theme
It just superimposes it's theme
It just superimposes it superimposes it's theme
