Pint and a Tune
Hello from Barcelona
Tonight I met a man
Age of 65 sipping on rocks under gin
And he asked me bout America
And if I thought that love would win
And I said mmm I hope it will
Today I write from Dublin
Last night we saw a show
Just a pop up in a pub
With a man and his guitar
And we did not know the words
But we fumbled with the tune
And they wrapped their arms around us
Singing filled the room
Singing Lala Lalala da lai da lai ho
Now I won't pretend to know the answer
And I'm not too naive to think it's clear
But I think we could stand to learn a thing or two
From talking with a stranger over a pint and a tune
Cause when the world gets darker
Together we shine brighter
Mmmm
Hello from REK tonight I met a girl
Said the sun never shines there but they're the happiest in the world
Cause when the world gets darker oh they just tell the doctor
And I said mmm same here
As she poured my drink oh I asked to sing a song
She said self medication is best found singing along
And as the world fell darker we both shined a little brighter and I said mmmm
Now I won't pretend to know the answer
And I'm not too naive to think it's clear
But I think we could stand to learn a thing or two
From talking with a stranger over a pint and a tune
Cause when the world gets darker
Together we shine brighter
Mmmm
So I'll write about my travels
And I'll put em in a song
It's the people who are most different
That teach me how to get along
So back to Barcelona with the man sipping gin
And the piano in the corner with a crooked wooden bench
When I finished singing oh he looked at me and said
The world will still be beautiful
So long as music lives
Now I won't pretend to know the answer
And I'm not too naive to think it's clear
But I think we could stand to learn a thing or two
From talking with a stranger over a pint and a tune
Cause when the world gets darker
Together we shine brighter
Mmmm
