I never knew what you could do until you came another day
Into my mind you ran without a thought before I could slide away
You've captured my soul and taken a role that I just can't dismiss
In thought I stay and it is on this day that I will reminisce

I never knew that someone could do this
And make me drive all night long
Out on the road dark reflections glimmer
Without a sound, without a song
I'm not driving to somewhere that matters
But somewhere I need to be
I'm not driving to change the world
I'm driving for my thinking

A strange contentment full of distance seems to enter myself
Driving to drive, to sweet solitude existence on another shelf
Feeling to feel, unforced void thought screaming to the pavement
React to react, test the senses through upon days of life so vacant

I never knew that nothingness could do this
And make me drive all night long
Out on the road dim headlights shimmer
Without a sound, without a song
I'm not driving to somewhere that matters
But I'm somewhere I need to be
I'm not driving to be a hero
I'm driving for the feeling
