Rabblerouser

The barns-a-burning
But the farmer's markets closed for the fall
The forecasts and Sunday sermons
Spoke alike of fortunes for poor man
Those eyes did dart
Toward model cars
And motel homes
But they dared not land
Burn down the barn
Head to the bar
Just know when to look away
He turned his eyes unto the flock
With burnt bush eyes and a white fence smile
And though he often seemed concerned
This time he did not
It's an old fashioned barn burner
It's a murder mystery
At the square dance in the ballroom
And I recall a time where I could reminisce
On days when I longed for the past
But those days are gone
Those eyes did dart
Toward model cars
And motel homes
But they dared not land
Burn down the barn
Head to the bar
Just know when to look away
