Destiny's Calling

To set the scene a story told in black and white the day unfolds
Blind lead the blind men go to war
And the government makes the law

And on and on it all repeats, there streets are cleaned while beggars sleep
Kings read their lines to canned applause
For effect without a cause

Fading light
The day is old
Before the night comes calling
Another setting sun
A thread like silver fire, a sea of green and gold
The feel of darkness falling, until the light has gone

So let moonlight shine on factories and through the blinds trees silver leaf
Across river bridges traffic roars so what of life what is it worth?
A silent song a missing page as bridges burn for pocket change
Like a disease that wipes out everything to keep the cost under control

Fading light
The day is old
Before the night comes calling
Another setting sun
A thread like silver fire, a sea of green and gold
The feel of darkness falling, until the light has gone

And on and on beyond belief the streets are cleaned while beggars sleep
And one more time with canned applause for effect without a cause
