Dear Girls

Words spread like wildfires
Across my school
If you're not pretty or popular
Then you're automatically not cool

And I see how everybody
Acts like someone's their best friend
Until minutes pass and you're hearing
The gossip all over again

I see the girls walk in the hallways
And judge as they see
Someone who may not be as popular
But stays true to their beliefs

It must be exhausting
Getting up in other's business
When it's not even your own
Why don't you sit back and zip it

What I don't understand is why
Girls can't be happy for another
Life shouldn't be a competition about
Who's better

Can't stop worrying about the likes
Or obsessing over somebody you just can't be like
And everybody's different
And I know some girls that need to hear it

I see the girls walk in the hallways
And judge as they see
Someone who may not be as popular
But stays true to their beliefs

It must be exhausting
Getting up in other's business
When it's not even your own
Why don't you sit back and zip it
