The One You Feed (Stolen Gospel)

A grandfather is talk to his grandson and he says
"There are two wolves inside each of us
One is a good wolf which represents things like kindness, bravery, and love
The other is a bad wolf which represents things like greed, hatred, and fear"
The grandson stops and thinks about it for a moment
Looks up at his grandfather and asks, "which one wins?"
The grandfather quietly replies, "The one you feed"

I stole my words from a preachers mouth
Because he could sing it better
I've held on to so much doubt
So I'm writing you a letter

I'm not the same from from when I began
Don't know if I'm a better or a worse man
Stolen gospel, pen in hand, I'll try to do the best that I can

Each pages tips are scorched in rage
Dug up some fire from my old days
Through crackled lips of songs I've sang
To try and say this in a new way

I thought I'd have to choose between
The kid inside me and the would-be King
But I found it's not the wolf you feed
It's about the one you need

I stole my words from a preachers mouth because he could sing it better
