Status Quo Syndrome

Belligerent ignorance is their fraudulent insurance
It's no coincidence, cold-hearted charlatans

The lights are on but nobody's home
Maintain the status quo syndrome

We were strangers once too
Now, brothers in arms, United against you

On a whim, I'm going out on a limb
To say you don't have a leg to stand on
You cheated in the foot race to the upper echelon
Blind witness to this phenomenon

Attack a straw man with his hands up
Lying face down on the ground
Truth is conveniently lost and found
Contemporary slavery isn't just a memory
Demented reverie, never safe and sound

To some degree this fallacy is a travesty of fatalities

Lackluster sympathy
Filibuster soliloquy

Your talk is cheap, and it bankrupts the freedom of speech
And with all due respect, that's a bunch of malarkey
I hope you choke from all the smoke you've been blowing

Malicious militias with vicious ambitions
Guided missiles, misguided men
A malevolent precedent is set
In this tragic game of Russian roulette

The dollar signs in your eyes
Won't let you realize your life is a lie
It's no debate, can't get your story straight
Blinded in chains, the growing pains
