Going in for Life

I told her, you could've been mine
She was 5'4, long hair, musically inclined
Anytime I saw her, I saw amusement in her eyes
And she was classy, so the classmates foolishly resigned
Overwhelmed, was she an angel? School couldn't decide
Later on I found out she was Medusa in disguise
I looked up in the sky, yelled "that's life"
The Universe replied "well.that's right!"
Sometimes I pinch myself, just to be sure I'm livin
The type of energy that permanently blurs your vision
My heart will burn for an eternity before I feel it
Cause this girl named Surely scarred it vertically
When we were children
As a kid you gonna bump your head and tear some ligaments
But she targeted my heart when it was off limits
In a pool full of sharks and I stopped swimmin
And got bitten till the pool turned into a dark liquid
Now my heart sound like a broken car engine
That got no gas in it
Which means, it's silent like a mime is
God please, show me where a sign is
Can't go around the mountain so I'm tryna climb it
Hope it don't avalanche
Because I'm just an average man
Tryna keep my balance but the world is on its axis man
Yeah, this is just me practicing.
