Manhood

I think i'm loosing it
I think i'm loosing it
I can't explain, i'm in too deep, maybe it's in my head
And all the people that i look up to they just don't care
And life's not fair
Life ain't fair

So far I've been finding it kind of hard to don my manhood
As the hero of his story has lived long enough to see himself become the villain

Now maybe it's just a feeling but I fear I'll be hung from a money tree
Trying to please a bunch of ladies that no longer believe manhood's are made of marriage material

So can I tell you my deepest concerns with all due respect?
I've seen the daughters of Eve being baptized in lukewarm water
While the sons of Adam stand stoic with stogies in hand like
Becoming a ghetto yogis apart of the plan, please
We guardians of the garden have forgotten how to lead
Neglecting vision in favour sight see
I worry that eventually I'll too lose balance on this beam of sunlight
And start to moonlight as an urban legend
Alongside my brethren who woo women without thought of their own
Worth or work which came first before her remember?
I know nowadays you're better off if you don't

Though many are a man's plans without fail His purpose will prevail
For us to walk with eternity set in our hearts
Bringing about goodness in the land of the living
But customs came and returned Him back to sender

So what's my option?
Except to keep steadfast in the study of self and soon follow His route
After all, I'm merely a pilgrim passing through, here for my spirit man's posture to improve
By becoming a professional labourer of love 'cause a provider alone isn't worthy of a throne
And even though I've been thrust onto the catwalk of the world, I'm no model citizen
I sit in sin along with every other human
The only difference is I submit
To the One that never starts before He's finished and put the end at the beginning
The Most High that knows I have a sweet tooth for eye candy
But aside from Him every other buzz is temporary

So for all the times I looked at a lady and merely thought she was pretty
I use this pen to make amends, saying amen and ayy men
The moment we allow our temptations of youth or T.O.Y's to follow us into manhood
We put ourselves on the hit list of hell
Reaping the seeds of our kingdom identity to stitch its fabric into manhood's
That won't fit the fashion polices description
But maybe that's exactly why they'll be the most wanted

I was lost, my heart was heavy
But you came, came to save me
Through the storm, my superhero, you saved the day
I once built my house with sand, and now it's time to use some blocks
Say bye-bye to the boy you had
Say hello to the brand new man
Ou-revoir, bonjour nouvelle l'homme
Ou-revoir, bonjour nouvelle l'homme
Say bye-bye, hello to the brand new man
Ou-revoir, bonjour nouvelle l'homme
