Bush TV

It's right before dusk when the sky turns to rust
The stillness of the wind and the colour on your skin
Children running home as the day starts to end
And I get a feeling that I can start again

I put the kettle on, pour a cup, turn off my phone
I think about the day, that I had, what I've done
And I can't shake the feeling of pure happiness
It's like the sun is stealing all the day's mess

Oh you
And me
Sitting in our back yard
Watching the bush tv

I see the cockatoos, flying home until dawn
When they will fill the sky with their white and crested fire
It doesn't last that long this magic hour
I'm right where I belong among the wildflower

Oh you
And me
Sitting in our back yard
Watching the bush tv

Oh see the kangaroos
Their shadow dark as night
They bounce across the view
And the sky's on fire
Oh you
And me
Oh you
And me
In our back yard
Watching the bush tv
