Agnostic's Parable
Would you show me - tell a story - how to read the world and learn reality
Like the one before that you told me of the father and the son and his new coat
It'd help me catch a thing or two
Like how people tend to change over time and space, the ripples and everything
For I've always wondered what their consequences would be like?
Would each guide us on our way
T'wards the truth and life, How'd our mind discern the way
There's the whole world all around us, be it a grain of sand or a faded cloth
There's a story in them all
With a virtue for us to carry, for through the darkest night or the mightiest storm
Have you ever wondered why a flock of birds flies in shapes across the sky
Is it mere creativity
Well it makes it easier to navigate, with the air to aid their wings
To steer till they reach the end
And all while taking turns to lead, so none in the flock's fatigued
They journey on, through sun or storm, on and on
Would you mean that there's Someone watching o'er us all
Whom we're yet to understand
Taking shape as a whisper within our heart, and binding us all as one
Moulding us through every turn, navigating us home
Could our eyes behold that answer to every prayer
There's the whole world all around us, be it a banyan bark or a pinch of salt
There's an answer in them all
With a virtue for us to carry, for through the darkest night or the mightiest storm
That'd keep us unshakeable through it all
There have been times I've tried and failed to heed the voice within
I ain't proud of it, I pray God will understand
Like the one before that you told me of the father and the son and his new coat
It'd help me catch a thing or two
Like how people tend to change over time and space, the ripples and everything
For I've always wondered what their consequences would be like?
Would each guide us on our way
T'wards the truth and life, How'd our mind discern the way
There's the whole world all around us, be it a grain of sand or a faded cloth
There's a story in them all
