Belly of the Whale

So I dove down in to the Belly of the Whale
I'm diving down further deep deep down still
I see the weeds, I dive to find the roots
Clean up my sacred garden so I can offer sacred fruit
And sacred fruit comes through in the form of ancient truth
Sacred fruit comes through in the form of ancient truth

My body talking, talking telling of the wounds
The mother's pain I carry from the line of ancient wombs
Working hard cracking calloused fingers to the bone
To build us up a house, make the house a home
Mother, oh, Mother

Well disregarded the thanks she got was slim
She gave all that she had and then she gave she gave again
And take we did, ever sucking selfish at the spout
Never realized that the Mana
Of the mother could run out

And I dive down
Oh I dive
In the belly of the whale
In the belly of the whale

As I think of the children, oh the future generations
Oh what of them, the ones we have brought in
Were leaving them with unprecedented blood, blood on their hands
The water toxic no way to wash it off
The 'āina tired the womb is drying up

And I dive
Oh I dive down
In the belly of the whale
We're in the belly of the whale

A conscious shift, the consciousness is it
Love and respect your neighbor, 'āina
Learn, learn to quietly sit with yourself
Discover inner peace and inner wealth
And pass it on, to all, all you come upon
We will live long, we will live on
We will tread lightly on the mother we come from
We will tread lightly for the future generations
We're in the belly of the whale
