Life Is Funny

I tried to explain, but couldn't find the right words
I tried to describe, but nothing seemed to fit
I tried not to complain, but it really got on my nerves
I tried not to ask why, but couldn't justify it

God must have a sense of humor, because my life is a satire
It's a hilarious black comedy
I'm laughing at the irony
How curses are also our blessings
Driven by desire to fulfill our destiny
Yet the fire of my inspiration will be the death of me
And my mind is designed to identify what I want most so it can be kept from me
You know what I mean, like why must have faith that forces me to live life skeptically
Rather than never really being satisfied
But wait- maybe I strive for something I can't have, have I lied?
No, but some things are too hard to describe
But for sure there is a balance that is required
Of anyone who decides they want to survive, in this life
For every talent that makes it easier
There's a challenge, in that same way we're all inferior
Like, the more the merrier
But the harder to squeeze through the barrier
The stronger I am, the more the world seems scarier
God has a sense of humor, but it's sicker than the illest disease and I'm the carrier
When will this madness cease, some say never
Some say never, and they laughed harder and harder
And sometimes I join in, bursts of giggles immersed in riddles
But who's joking? Who's joking? Poking fun at me, and all of humanity
Can't you help me see the punchline
What a waste, but what's a waste of time?
But what's the price time when everything is dyin'?
You might as well, laugh at the memories of those who died
Rather than feeling hurt and hollow inside
Swallow your pride or be blind
To the interaction of earth and mankind
It makes me want to cry, it makes me want to cry

It makes me want to cry, but what's tear more than salt and water?
Touch on your fears, let's talk, what's the matter?
Like when I was tickled as a child by my brothers, I laughed so hard it hurt
Pinned down the ground, squirming like a worm, wild berserk
A twisted reaction to physical interaction, is this a joke?
Soaked in my own emotions and I can't detach them, so don't provoke
Lest I can't choke what is innately in me, and accidentally mistake you as an enemy
Or perhaps meet death friendly, face to face and shake his hand
He likes my raps, I laughed at the wrath of his ax
Then he asked for my autograph, he's my fan
Life is funny, like how sometimes it works perfectly
Like I didn't see it coming and all of a sudden I know God personally
You never know your blessings, until you get a chance to count 'em
And you can claim coincidences, who am I to doubt them?
I found the fountain of youth, but it can't soothe my wounds
No amount in full could ever convince me to escape my doom
Because life is funny, heh, and most hilarious of all
Is that wicked insane laughter after one's own downfall
Cause I found out actually I have no control
Life shapes my mental and my physical where my soul
Is trapped to gravity, as a victim, or rather a beneficiary
Slapped in the face with a lesson, now life isn't as scary
This lucky bastard's no longer guessing, just letting the cards get dealt
And still betting, regretting nothing, because of what I felt
The present is the past and the future, together they melt

I tried to explain, but couldn't find the right words
I tried to describe, but nothing seemed to fit
I tried not to complain, but it really got on my nerves
I tried not to ask why, but couldn't justify it

I'm too wise for my own good in this world of ignorance
Torn between being stupid or knowing I live a meaningless existence
So I strive for small change, cause that's all I can manage
And every life changed expands the range of ignorance with which my wisdom can damage

I'm too wise for my own good in this world of ignorance
Torn between being stupid or knowing I live a meaningless existence
So I strive for small change, cause that's all I can manage
And every life changed expands the range of ignorance with which my wisdom can damage
