Dragon

In a land very far from here
Time has past I can't recall the year
There once reigned a benevolent king
Who's subjects lacked nary a thing

Then one treacherous night fire rained from the sky
His kingdom burned and his subjects they died
Such a beast he never had seen
And it's final flames devoured his queen

The king drew his sword
And the beast... he darkened the sky
He screamed with vengeance
I tell you tonight, tonight, tonight you will die

The Dragon laughed in the face of the king
Glaring down he whispered just one thing
Oh my king you can't weather this storm
The king whispered back... I am the storm!

He destroys with each fiery breath
The kingdom lie ruined it's covered, covered in death
The king and the dragon now stand face to face
But who is the victor and who's laid to waste?

Ten thousand archers drew back their bows
Aimed at the Dragon now facing his foes
Each flaming tip turned night into day
As the king promised the Dragon now slain

He destroys with each fiery breath
The kingdom lie ruined it's covered, covered in death
The king and the dragon now stand face to face
But who is the victor and who's laid to waste?

He turns to sever the head of the beast
Dying yet breathing, it's longing to feast
Raising his sword he steadies the blade
As the dragon lies playing his deadly charade

In a land very far from here...
Time has past and now nothing is clear
