Gettin' It

There once was a man's man
As tough as the trees he cut
They would touch the clouds above
And were as wide as his truck
No match for his chains shackles hydraulics and such
He thought he was gods gift and kind of spoke like

This was a man's man yes he was
He didn't listen to much no no he didn't
You could try to give him advice you could you could
But you'd get nothing but a shrug
He has his own way of doing things and kept it like that
His tools were an extension of him and no tree was a match

He thought man its great to be on top of the food chain
I can have whatever I want and whatever animal I slain
His head and his heart filled with arrogance
And never a moment in his life he would consider this
But every man will have his day
Not even he knew his was moments away
For his pride had got in his way
The same as when the tree stopped his chain
But when it all finally all broke free
They both came crashing down on him the saw and the tree
And only those who's home he took could hear his cry
And these eyes were the last to see him as he laid there slowly died
