Shellophane

Rare air
I'm dry as a fruit that has been in the sun for too long
But I am not dry-eyed
Tears are my last tiny bit of fluid left inside
I'm a puppet on a string
Literally, cause I can still fell the hard, stone-cold steel
Breaking through my jaw
Hanging on a hook, I will never make it very far

You grab me by my arms and fins
And put me in a dirty sink
You wrap me up in shellophane and send me away
Your hands, your heart, you're cold as ice
No wonder you can't see the light
In my eyes that will fade on a plate tonight

How do I taste?
Aren't I a little bit salty from all the tears that ran down my face?
Can you sense the oil?
You take apart my habitat as much as your own soil
You think you need me to live?
Have fun having me rot inside you, tell me again how you feel
Someday the seas will be empty
The only thing left inside to find is your troubling greed
Tell me again how you feel

You grab me by my arms and fins
And put me in a dirty sink
You wrap me up in shellophane and send me away
Your hands, your heart, you're cold as ice
No wonder you can't see the light
In my eyes that will fade on a plate tonight

You pack me up to suffocate
You chop me up and couldn't care less
You hang me upside down and I see my life fade out
Lying in a bed of bodies
Bloody blankets, sweet like honey
It's okay, I get that it's your gory minds
