The Friend Ship

I picked her up
I took her out on a date
Had a couple drinks, a couple laughs
I took her back to her place
We were front door saying goodnighting
She was all like, "I had a good time" and
I leaned in for a goodnight kiss but she didn't

She put me on the friend ship, out there waiting
In an ocean, and she's just waving
From the shoreline cuz she don't like me like that
She took the wind right out, of all my sails and now
Instead of floating down the coast in the love boat with her I'm sinking in
The friend ship

She hit me with
The "It ain't you it's me" thing
I mean I guess she did her best
To try and let me down easy
But I was feeling like that old Titanic
Running into a cold gigantic
Block of ice out there right under her porch light

When she put me on the friend ship, out there waiting
In an ocean, and she's just waving
From the shoreline cuz she don't like me like that
She took the wind right out, of all my sails and now
Instead of floating down the coast in the love boat with her I'm sinking in
The friend ship

I didn't think that she was gonna leave me
All alone with my dinghy

She put me on the friend ship, out there waiting
In an ocean, and she's just waving
From the shoreline cuz she don't like me like that
She took the wind right out, of all my sails and now
Instead of floating down the coast in the love boat with her I'm sinking in
The friend ship
