One thing for sure in education, is that things will be changin'.
From the UbDs to the CCCs, now phasing out the CMTs,
Along came smarter balanced assessments you see.

But are these new evaluations here to stay?
Is SBAC ever really going away?
It's certainly not the first and probably not the last.

Anyhow, I know soon it'll be time to write our SLOs,
Making sure they're aligned with our ELOs.
Somehow connected into our PGP,
I'm sure soon you'll see you'll have a PPT.

But let's wait and see, as we talk about our PGPs in our PLCs.
Gee, how many benchmarks this year?
It's not really clear.
But got to show student growth,
'Cause the EOCA will tell the proof if you lived up to your oath.

Well, your numbers may be on the up and up or on the down low.
And you may be wonderin' why so?
Well education is a funny thing.
Sometimes too many variables to truly know.

But is that what truly lies at the heart of your practice?
Are stats and data all that truly matter?
Let's not forget about the kids who are ESL or is it ELA,
Either way, ESC,
That's not the escape button out you see.
That's every student counts.

And that's why we have ASC and SSC,
And getting all kids back to where they need to be.

Well you see, educators have a funny way of making history.
But I ain't gonna lie, teaching can make you say, "Why?"
Puttin' on a show at least 5 times a
Day, 5 days a week, 180 days a year.
It's a live performance, it's a one-take act.
What you say and what you do, you hope make an impact.

But sometimes we can get spun in every which way,
We get caught up in the drama, losing sight of today.
What matters in the end is where it all began.
And when you signed that contract,
Maybe yesterday or maybe way back in the day,
You had everything you needed.
The passion, desire, the attitude with gratitude,
Because you're a teacher who truly inspires!

Today and moving forward, I wish us all to remember one thing.
Remember the triangle, the power of three.
Come on everybody and repeat after me.
