Life
I watched a documentary about millionaires
To see any difference between my life and theirs
And the one thing they all had in common with each other
Is they lost everything at one point or another
So I spent a small fortune on a lot of nothing
Staring through empty blind glasses hoping they'd say something, hoping they'd say anything
Even after saying the help to make sense of this confusing life of mine
You can try to understand me but I don't even
My life hasn't turned out for some reason
I'm quite how I thought it would be moving back home at 23
Now I'm single, broke, without a job, acting like I'm some artsy snob
Maybe I'm plus their lazy stodoo sked
Look to the bright side of life, of life, of life
Look to the bright side of my life
Look to the bright side of life, of life, of life
Look to the bright side of my life
Yeah, uh-uh, scrunched up bed receipts around my feet
But I'll put another on because I hate facing defeat
Gone from a pop star, gigs every night, to making cups of tea for the builders on site
I'll take stock, restart, back to basics, Gary Ballard said to have a little patience
I've been in the jungle, I've mingled with snakes
I'm machetting my complacency and learn from my mistakes
Nothing seems to go your way, instincts says just to run away
You start to run but then turn back as there's no fun in doing that
There's no fun from giving up, from looking back in years to come
Thinking of things you could have done if you weren't scared
Look to the bright side of life, of life, of life
Look to the bright side of my life
Look to the bright side of life, of life, of life
Look to the bright side of my life
Oh, look to the bright side of life
Not sure if I'm doing it right
I'll love when that's all I can do
Am I here for me or am I here for you?
Look to the bright side of life, of life, of life
Look to the bright side of my life
Look to the bright side of life, of life, of life
Look to the bright side of my life
Look to the bright side of life, of life, of life
Look to the bright side of my life
Look to the bright side of life, of life, of life
Look to the bright side of my life
Look to the bright side of life, of life, of life (they can shout, they can fight, they can spit)
Look to the bright side of my life (they can swipe, they can do whatever they like but)
Look to the bright side of life, of life, of life (they can't keep a good one down, no mate)
Look to the bright side of my life (nope, you can't keep a good one down)
To see any difference between my life and theirs
And the one thing they all had in common with each other
Is they lost everything at one point or another
