A Quest to Find the Protagonist

In search of the protagonist
I face the morning light
And all I see and all I get
An ordinary lie
And all I crave I find engraved
On the backside of my mind
But I need the protagonist to get the picture right

The sun crawls up the dodgy sky
Compulsive and senile
Entwined in daily casualties
I fight to be benign
And all the while a chorus line
Sounds Dirge within my mind
But I need the protagonist to get the picture right

I comprise days and nights of silence
I extort every thought from my eyes
Permeated and expired
With clouds and mist while yet a child
I see indeed presently through a glass in obscurity

In search of the protagonist
I roam this mortal coil
Insanity and gravity
Have left me unemployed
And all the while the weaving bride
Meets strangers in my mind
But I need the protagonist to get this picture right!
