Jacquard Dream

Snow was on the ground but it was fairly warm
There was a camp-like atmosphere
I followed a snowy trail to a cave by the sea
The opening was filled with bagged groceries
I had to move them aside to enter
Kids were there
One of them I wanted to fight
A friend fought them and won

I am walking in the misty morn
Between a gated park and the back of a public building
It looks like there are zombies stirring in the park
Behind me on my walk I notice
A Catholic school teacher, walking fast
I increase my pace but she does hers
Is she a zombie? A friend of hers joins
And I jog

I am in a very large old house by the sea
That could pass for a former resort
Jacquard drapes along a tall wall veil the night seascape
I ask the old woman owner: who watches you from out there
If no one watches, I would never put drapes on this window
She smiled, as if she had dismissed the view from her thoughts
