Caught in traffic feeling wild erratic
it's automatic like the news to be tragic
there's something magic here
there's something in the air
In between the voices just adding to the static
I blow smoke and it floats in the alley
homeless man shouts about peace in the valley
he lights a cigarette
and has a fresh regret
And asks for change quick before his finale
I toss a quarter close but keep my distance
The only kinda change that comes in an instant
and no one's finished here
in fact we're nowhere near
and even by the darkest night it's hot as hell's kitchen
got me wishing for a break in the summer
wishing that you call me by name and not a number
we're all just counting sheep but this is not the dream
guess its's gonna be a long night for the hunter
