Medley (From Heartbeat) [The Abbreviated King Crimson 1991]
The Light of Day improve by Jakszyk, Fripp, Collins
The 2011 Scarcity of Miracles album by Jakszyk, Fripp, Collins
Can rightly be seen as King Crimson project
In fact, King Crimson Project seven
And one which can be seen as a stepping stone
Towards the current incarnation of King Crimson
Which began two years later in 2013
Like all the other projects, Jakszyk, Fripp, Collins is based around improvisation
Its Genesis was a series of improvisations between Robert Fripp and Jakko Jakszyk
In our studios in Broadshawk
At the end of the day
Robert suggested that Jacko take the recordings and do something with them
In the months that followed
I remember Robert often listening in his room late at night
To the various recordings as they were sent back
With many hours of it, they were not yet songs but no, but they were all improvisations
They inhabited a middle ground, and had a wonderful ambiguity
Something like music is process rather than finished product
We've been discussing adding
Some of those intervening recordings to a reissued version of the album
And then Alex told me Mandy found this version of The Light of Day
And uploaded it to the DGM live site
It captures some of that magic
So here it is Jakszyk, Fripp, Collins, an early version of The Light of Day
