Housefly Blues

If these walls could talk, what would they say
Would they keep my secrets, or give me away
Even if we paint them blue
The lies and the smoke will surely show through
Let's go ahead and paint them black
And pray to God it's dark enough to hide the facts

If I was a spider hangin' from the ceiling
You might not see me there but ya might have a feeling
I'd spin my web, wait for flies to land
Creep beside you when ya need a friend
But if I sink my venom in, death might find you right where you stand

If these floors could walk, would they leave
Would they pack it up and go and let the whole world see
They're out to feel the, sing the blues
Tired of being sheltered by the roof
But when the rain falls down and the lightning cracks
The floor starts begging, "baby please take me back"

If these walls could talk, what would they say
Would they keep my secrets, would they give me away
Even if we paint them blue
the lies and the smoke will surely show through
So let's go ahead and paint them black and pray to God its dark enough to hide the facts
