Siberian Snows

The ground was open wide when the season bloomed
And with its gaping holes it would call for air
For anybody willing to sow for food
For languid weeks to dawn

So, when the winter came and no one walked by
The spots were closing one by one
Soon, it was only meat and alcohol
Until the traps too were dry

And then the snow settled in and there was no turning back
All that was left was within the house's walls

The first days went by quickly in the fire's warmth
But once the wood had vanished it all slowed down
It's said a fast death's fair even if it comes too soon
I guess there's unjustness in life

And then the snow went away and there was no turning back
All that was left was within the house's walls
