Overthinker

Hoped you were an open book
But all the words I read were blurred
It's like when you listen to rap
But all the words you hear are slurred

It just gets frustrating
'Cause when you do something
It just gets me asking
If there was some meaning
This shit gets confusing
And it's not amusing
I feel like you're leading me on, you know?

I feel like you don't

But still, I feel like it's pointless
I could just run-on and not close the sentence
Got so many questions like, "Where are my common senses?"
I guess when they're so hard to find
then they ain't really common; they just end up useless

She had this beauty in her
That had no symmetrical figures
I couldn't figure out how my oversized thoughts
Could fit in the picture

Call it abstract art - can't tell her intent and her actions apart
It doesn't add up - could her actions be more than the sum of the parts?

She loved her math though; she was good with the numbers
Wish I could count on her
To help me count the ways
On how to count us together

Should I pose a question to mention intentions
Then get some attention, then get some affection
Don't want no aggression, just want affirmation or some confirmation

God bless the nation

I think I'll be needing His blessing
When you take a leap of faith, you're best not forgetting
How you nail your landing

Here's a question of mine in mind
I hope you don't mind if I ask
"Is the way that I run out of breath when I rhyme
the same way I run in your mind every time?"

Are the thoughts in her head
Just like the things she said?
Do I read to much between the lines
They end up bent? I bet
