Back in the Day

Back in the day when I was young, I never thought I'd question God
But now that I've grown, I've seen the world become what it truly is
A cesspool of embarasssments
These inhabitants I would never call my neighbor
Your slowly walking down the street becomes running when somebody's gunning away
But within a week you will all forget the victim's names
'Cause you all have an attention span of a goddamn dog
It's truly sickening

It's dog eat dog in a world where a kid kills a kid and no one cares
But no one ever stops to think and listen to these kids who are on conviction

You won't trade in your guns for some peace of mind
Even though it might save a child's life
Hell, even if it doesn't, at least we could say that we fuckin' tried
So we won't go listed in your books as Neanderthals
The only modern nation to never evolve

It's dog eat dog in a world where a kid kills a kid and no one cares
But no one ever stops to think and listen to these kids

But I know that the world's never gonna change
Please take me to my grave, let me see my resting place
