The Polar Theatre

The girl in the theatre screams
And the lonely smoker offers his best tended dreams
And these are tepid dreams he considers
But she fears he has something that's hidden
And as the night closes, like curtainious forclosures
He steps to the side to ignore her

Rows of seats a communal hall; ordered
With padded walls... a cell for them

A shadow falls and she picks it up
She moves to the exit; tracking, he ponders on nothing
She thinks but white and green
Matter projected on the screen
Matter he sees interrupted
And with a click of the door she's gone
One last beam of light it narrows
All but a wall unites them

One forgets, one will never

A fleeting act, no more together
