Midst of a Storm

Should I know where you are?
If you don't know you're part of all I've done so far
Under the guise of protection
To hide away that I'm no stellar selection

Driving through Delaware in the midst of a storm
So unaware how much I'd need you when this place ain't warm

Searching for the nape of your neck in whiteout conditions
A ritual I find, after I've locked my door and then I'm down and out

We'd made our bed in the back of my old car
But we still slept in different places, feeling a distance so far
