Home

The fireplace quietly crackling
Snow is slowly falling outside
Though nothing's different, it's still not the same
I'm at home for one last yuletide

The footprints of a world I once lived in
Will soon fade away for all time
I'll lose the only home I've ever had
Yet no one will pay for this crime

I run just to catch my breath
I've never had to face a goodbye like this one
Where am I?
I've lost the way back home for good
No more breadcrumbs

The doors that would always welcome us back
Will from now on don a blindfold
The arctic violets that we brought to life
Wither all alone in the cold

I wake to a heart gone cold
The words all feel so empty, that road led nowhere
Who are you?
Your selfishness will be your end
No more ways back

As years go by, I'll drift further away
From the life I'll always adore
The games we played in the last lights of day
Will live in my heart evermore

I dream of the world I loved
Of everything I lost, all that I was robbed of
Where to go?
The roads are narrow, and not one
Of them leads home
