Spoiling the Earth

In the beginning God made the Earth
He created it perfectly beautiful birth
He made Him an Adam gave him an Eve
He placed them in a garden but they were deceived

Mankind's been spoiling the Earth since that day
When they ate the apple then threw the core away

We've been cutting down trees burning them for heat
We've been pumping up Palaeolithic oil just to drive down the street
We've been reading our papers then throwing them away
Instead of recycling for use some other day
We've been spraying bug repellant non-stick fry and paint
We've wrecked the Ozone Layer a UV-shield it ain't

Mankind's been spoiling the Earth since that day
When they ate the apple then threw the core away

We've reprogrammed our minds with the garbage on T.V.
Children can't add two and two to help the economy
Through the pestilence created by our ignorance and bliss
We've brought drought and fire and flood to destroy the ecology
We've found hiding places for tons of soot that the trucks make every day
Re-decorating the skyline to a diesel shade of grey
