Surface Sounds

I can try to find a brush to hide ya
I'll paint in your highlights
But I can't take the blues away
Several times we've tried and it took time
I'm not green with envy
I'm just feeling grey today
These sounds, they bounce around my head
And float to the surface
They seem to echo in the waves
I'm just counting down 'til I'm allowed
To repeat my verses
But some day they'll all sound the same

Keep your eye on
The horizon
And you might see them drift away

Have you gone deaf?

Slip the net

I've had enough, the waves are rough

The tide is safer far away
