Cold Outside
It's a cold world, man it's cold outside
Even when it's cold outside
You gon shine, yea that's right
It's a cold world, but that isn't why he's got the chills
The drugs got his body lost in lots of thrills
It started with the pain that got him lost in pills
It all changed, he got tired of paying doctor bills
That's when he found the streets and got lost In needles
And got lost in evil, society's lost them people
They're the walking dead, not the victims of addiction
No excuses, they're the victims of their wrong decisions
Now he sees eviction and a long conviction
Subtracting from his family, now it's all division
But they turned him in cuz they were on a mission
Hoping when he was trapped behind them bars he'll listen
And he did, he fought addiction and he called for wisdom
He did his time, never was all forgiven
But he understood, hurt the addict, help the man
So now he works to give the lost a helping hand
It's a cold world, man it's cold outside
And the negativity is so outright
But no amount of darkness can blow out light
So let your light shine cuz it's no doubt bright
Yea, even when it's cold outside
It's a cold world, man it's cold outside
It's so cold outside
But you gon shine, yea that's right
He feels alone even when his fams at home
He plots suicide but his plan isn't known
His depression got him feeling trapped up in a void
He's loved but it makes him anxious and paranoid
"What's wrong with you?" Is what he asks himself
And where he's from, real men don't ask for help
And real men provide, but he's lacking wealth
So much pride, he even denies his pastor's help
As he lies and he always tries to mask himself
While at night he begs and pleads for the masters help
Then he gets another bill and wants to blast himself
But as he looks past the gun stashed on the shelf
He sees his young daughters eyes as she laughs then yelps
And he cries as he learns to look past himself
His daughter reminds him of the light within
While contemplating his life end is when life begin
It's a cold world, man it's cold outside
And the negativity is so outright
But no amount of darkness can blow out light
So let your light shine cuz it's no doubt bright
Yea, even when it's cold outside
It's a cold world, man it's cold outside
It's so cold outside
But you gon shine, yea that's right
We all go through our journey and our odyssey
Experience reality and form our own philosophy
You're not the only one struggling that's hard to see
We all see the struggle coming and we start to flee
But there's nowhere to run and there's nowhere to turn
Sometimes you gotta take it, just stand there and burn
And then you rise up like the phoenix
And keep rising up until you reach zenith
I speak positivity because I mean it
I know that evil is a behemoth
But you got that light in you man I sent it
The reason that you can do it is cuz you dreamed it
I know you doubt yourself cuz you're feeling like your damaged
But you take that damage and use it to your advantage
Like you know only damaged oysters can make pearls
So you can use your struggle to shape worlds. Do it
It's a cold world, man it's cold outside
And the negativity is so outright
But no amount of darkness can blow out light
So let your light shine cuz it's no doubt bright
Yea, even when it's cold outside
It's a cold world, man it's cold outside
It's so cold outside
But you gon shine, yea that's right
