Closure Interlude

I apologize for all anthologies
About assumed answers I authored
Accountability has always been a problem for me
Awakening an angry you isn't what I intended to do
So I began weeping too
I blamed you for our locked lips
And tough tongues tired from talk
I apologize that our attempts
To repair attitudes never saw through
And this is my apology to you
I'm through with this reoccurring truth of we and not you
The moment I adjunct professed love to you
A grand gesture that was too much
Yet not enough
Closure is difficult between two armies of one
Who difficultly battle communication and appreciation
Ending with two towels thrown
White rags covering skies
We're both high and tired of overdosing on thin lines
Of love and hate
It's worn out my mind
And while recovering I was wondering why
I felt I wasn't enough
After rolling a drug
Then hitting it once, puff
I wasn't enough because "I was enough"
Were words I never heard from your lips
Love language barriers are
Unforeseen, unintended, and unobtainable
Which means my language of love
Is not meant to be understood by you
And yours was foreign to me
Hear what I'm saying to you
My last lip lock of rough talk
Reassurance and recognition
Would've eased our mission
