The Boondocks

My brain is marinating in the sauce of the death
The road to glory is paved with regret, and still ya, gotta forgive, or forget?
I think that's what they all say
Even though we constantly think about our struggles and strives everyday
Water under the bridge is filling up the moat
Surrounding the castle which once contained my hopes
Now the walls are crumbling from the inside out
Watchtower taken over by those filled with doubt
You still try to see the light but it's gone
Your world is a broken vagabond, begging for spare change
And we do nothing but walk around
This is our end

Our end, a children's story filled with delusion
I guess that's what you were taught
Thanks for making me live this illusion
At least that's what I want to believe
That we would never put ourselves in this living hell
But it's here, it's for good
That's no good, when there's no safe places left
