Well the business man is on his way
To meet a lovely dinner date
It's such a shame she's not his wife
But he loves to lead a life
Of perfectly placed lies

So he punches out and then check in
To the nearest local inn
But first he's got to clear his tracks
And get the lady off his back
And this is what he has to say:

"Gwen I swear I'm on my way
The boss has got me working late
I know it's past eight, but you're gonna have to wait

Til my work is done, you know it's not fun
To have to bring home the bread
Don't wait up, you know I'm gonna work the clock"

And so the very next night
The businessman has got the mind
To push his marriage to the line
What he tell Gwen this time?

I guess we'll have to wait and see

"Gwen I swear I'm working late
I know I said that yesterday
But this boss of mine has done it and lost her mind"

But Gwen says "Don't worry dear,
You know that junior is here
To keep me company
Don't worry, you know we need the money"
