The Winter Without You

Grew a beard and split some wood. Swinging an axe felt mighty good.
Pulling cars out of the ditch with my pick-up and ball hitch.
Bought a stove with a fake flame, but the electric glow won't ease the pain
I tried to cut a Christmas tree but the squirrels made fun of me.
What can I do to make it through the winter without you?

Winter candle lights her face, afterwards we ate lefse and lutefisk.
Do you know they cook that stuff in lye? What an awful way to die.
What can I do to make it though the winter without you?

I saw "It's a Wonderful Life". Jimmy Stewart made me feel alright.

After seeing it seven times I kinda wish life was mine.
What can I do to make it through the winter without you?

I could call you on the phone, but I'm pretty sure you're not home.
I know it's new year's eve again, you're probably out with him.
