Mission Earth

Illusions
Have crossed all of our minds
Confusion
Enters in before it binds
Weakness
Is the trap that's set unseen
Forgivness
Is the bridge set in between

And the fair wage set on the sea of toil
Would wage a handsome toll
And the waning hours unsung without
This flesh would stain my soul

And it swallows the vision
Of the one true mission
Buried under steps behind
While desire has now rendered blind

Ensnared within pursuit of life
In the garden goodness knows
Gain the world and all she's worth
Yet forfeit my soul

Temporal ambition
Clouds true vision
And the spurious wisdom
Confounds the mission

A long lost friend reminded me
Of two thousand years ago
When the Son of Man hung on the tree
This debt He did not owe
This truth it searches deep my soul
And the seeds of life were sown
My hands now clasped with heat and light
Unlike I'd ever known

The facade of life which covered me
Fell in blood stained holes
Praise escapes from my lips
For Christ has made me whole

He restores the vision
Of eternal conviction
Captured by true wisdom
The earth is the mission
