Tips & Tricks
I heard you want to be a star
To be a legend
To be a king, to be God
You got some questions
It couldn't possibly be hard...
Ain't no easy trick to it
But
Find your plan and stick to it
So you watched a couple videos and came to a conclusion
That you wanna be a rapper, and make a career in music
First you Got a big chain and a fresh pair of Yeezys
You can put all of that away, cause it's not that easy
Rapping is the only job field where you can be great
And still it won't guarantee food on your plate
So Before you write a verse — you gotta learn the basics
Listen to the legends, understand why they're the greatest
Most go to court and try to copyright their names
I'd table that for later cause you gotta save your change
Make the name worth something, spend the cash on your productions
Cause nobody will listen if your beats aren't bumpin'
Always have a subject, don't write about nothing
The songs with staying power are usually about something
Pay your artists directors and your engineers
And don't forget to need taxes every year
I heard you want to be a star
To be a legend
To be a king, to be God
You got some questions
It couldn't possibly be hard...
Ain't no easy trick to it
But
Find your plan and stick to it
Next is your *stage show, you gotta learn to work the crowd
Learn the difference between being audible and just loud
Practice enunciating— by rapping to the mirror
Don't cup the mic, it won't make you sound clearer
If there's chairs in the venue, get em moved em out the way
And Don't you leave the show before asking about the pay!
Whether you're rocking stadiums or you still local
Never - ever - rap over your vocals
Be easy to work with and respect the leaders
Nothing worse than an amateur who acts like a diva
Lastly Write exceptional bars and great hooks
And never -ever ever spam you folks on Facebook
It's not a great look - don't burden your friends
When you do have a show, they most won't attend
But it's cool, you want fans not associates
Don't go out like chad focus with ya socials all bogus
Remember Be humble and be willing to learn
Cause there ain't no turning back if some bridges get burned
Don't be too cocky when someone says a verse should be re wrote
Most important in my opinion you gotta be dope
These tips won't guarantee success
But they will ensure you'll enjoy the process
And that's what it's all about not the cash or the clout
But how you feel inside about what you're putting out
I'm out
