Pen in my hand
With a notebook on my lap
I say I wanna change the world through my art
Y'all laugh
And it
Gets to me
It really really gets to me
To brighten someones day through my work
That's a win to me
Music is art
And art is to be shared
I often wonder if anyone out there really cares
Cause I write for the people
Who have been compared
And I write to fight
That feeling of being
Scared

I'm tired of being told that my way
Isn't the way to go
That's like trying to deprive a skier of
His blade and snow
It's easy to give advice
Just sit back
Enjoy the show
But to go and do it?
That's some confidence you've yet to own
Nobody's changed the world by doing
What it's told them to do
This music is a huge bond
It's like it's my souls glue
These lyrics are a message
That I hope you don't misconstrue
Someone new
Someone knew

These thoughts often tear at me
Just a fraction of my reality
I see everyone's posts
Live in a world of artificiality
It eats at my mind
Like a dream I cannot shake
A disease with no cure
I need to reinstate an escape
Because if not soon
I'm sure my mind will shipwreck
Outside the deadlocked door of my head
I hear a couple footsteps
For the listeners and I
Find what fuels your fight
This is a battle against darkness
And passion is our brightest light

We're back for the last verse
The most important part
These words are an attempt to bring
Music back to art
Swear if it wasn't for this
Life would tear me apart
So I sit here in the dark
Writing straight from the heart
For me
Hope you stay strong
Know your path will never be wrong
Know that you will always belong
For now just enjoy the song
It often gets dark
But life's a journey we all embark
All it takes is a spark
To light the way
And kill the dark
