Drowning in My Sleep

Drowning in my sleep

I stand and stare as the moonlight floods the ocean,
Light skipping and dancing on the crest of the waves

I, I look behind
There lies a pile of clothes with bare footprints-
Leading up to where my feet stand now
I'm on the edge
A tranquil sleepy shore, my mind unsure
Unconsciousness to what will happen now -

Free - as all the pain subsides
I feel my guardian angel watching me
Smiles from people of my past
Can't tell if this is real or fantasy

I suffocate as I inhale, I go deep under a watery grave

And now, I know its time
I take my first small steps into the
sea, and feel the icy tide embracing me
Below the surf, cascading over me,
I know I must - find energy to swim for all its worth

Free - as all the pain subsides
I feel my guardian angel watching me
Smiles from people of my past
Can't tell if this is real or fantasy

I submerge, I immerse, I'm swamped and saturated, drenched and soaked

Above, the pale moonlight,
I watch it disappear,
as dark engulfs the life I had and floods whats left to keep,
The nightmare ends,
the trance i'm living in, this reverie - is killing me
I'm drowning in my sleep

Take me deeper and deeper and deeper... deeper
