Leaf Empire

Always so near
Yet so far away
Never moving
Still it won't stay

The central temple grows
Pillars with a gem inside
Reluctant to disclose
Secrets to hungry eyes
The stone once engulfed in
Bloodthirsty flames
Still shining through the leaves
Under ancient sun rays

I keep on fighting with the dark
As another flash appears
Even brighter now than before
Illuminating my path
I see the glorious entrance
Grand in its beauty
The sense that I've arrived takes me

One step into the bastion, bashing the adventure
Bringing the light (Intoxicated)
Incoming darkness full of divas who kiss heroes goodnight
Reaching for the jewel of life, it moves and disappears
Quivering hands drop the lantern

Yet I carry on
Forever destined to be in motion
Did the crop field triffids really speak?
Maybe the swamp attracts me
The journey is the fall
Miniature sly ants
We're the insects that roam
The back of Mother Earth
The Leaf Empire

The true treasure lies
Beneath the fog
The key to open it
Can become the lock

Every sepal, as it falls
Bloomed in its given time
Settles my avarice for meaning
By the heirloom of light
Remaining path is molten
The life line shines red
Like my rancor
Slash through the coppice, silencing

One step into the bastion, bashing the adventure
Bringing the light (Intoxicated)
Incoming darkness full of divas who kiss heroes goodnight
Reaching for the jewel of life, it moves and disappears
Quivering hands carry the lantern
