The Dream
I woke up in a dream, from a long time ago
And the white horse danced, as the bloody river flowed
I saw the fortress fall, where it once stood strong and proud
While the ashes sang the memories, the earth cried out loud
And I could not hear because there was no sound
I could not see the sun, though the night had yet to fall
Empty people stared, at the broken castle walls
Beating drums grew louder, to the rising flaming tide
A thousand burning flags, a thousand Kings die
And no one could hear because there was no sound
No one heard the trumpets blow on the judgement day
God and the Devil just shook their heads
And walked the other way day
I thought I had awoken, from this nightmare dream
But the devil laid beside me, I knew there was more to see
From the darkness came the thunder, as the lightning struck the stone
The world fell around me, there was no way back home
And no one could hear because there was no sound
I tried to find the mountain, I knew I had to climb
I wandered through the valley, among the broken piled high
Hell was on my trail, as the demons came to play
There was nowhere to hide, and Heaven had looked the other way
And no one could hear because there was no sound
No one heard the trumpets blow on the judgement day
God and the Devil just shook their heads
And walked the other way
I made it to the mountain, but as I started to climb
It melted into the ocean, I was swimming for my life
A sea of burning candles, drowning flames die
When the few choose for the many, the many get left behind
And no one could hear because there was no sound
No one heard the trumpets blow on the judgement day
God and the Devil just shook their heads
And walked the other way
No one heard the trumpets blow on the judgement day
God and the Devil just shook their heads
And walked the other way
And the white horse danced, as the bloody river flowed
I saw the fortress fall, where it once stood strong and proud
While the ashes sang the memories, the earth cried out loud
And I could not hear because there was no sound
