The City Within

Through bitter cold I search
Forevermore, into the tundra
Searching out my prize
I see outlines within sight
On the horizon

And now my research can begin
They will see
It holds the secrets of the earth
Something remains unseen

I stand in awe in lands of ice, towering walls betray my eyes
The unknown, this flesh and bone
Of what world's created?

In the darkness the creatures lie
And from our hands, they live again

From darkened corners- haunted eyes
These frozen walls hide their demise
Now I see, the mist unfolds
As I now descend the stairs

The City Within the ancient mountains of old
Resting place of endless secrets untold

Under the ice, the creatures lie
And by our hands, they're living
Breathing, hunting
Endless the panic, the lost
The dead, taken
Cut down, dissected, my men
My own, my friends
We are the hunted
Their means to leave this place
Now they've awakened
To end the human race

Deeper within the hall, misery, insanity
All will be lost in vain, if we don't push
Into the center

All of the things I see within
Alien
It holds the secerets of the Earth
That we're not alone

Deep within the Earth
Lies their final tomb
Deathless bodies of the ones
Who herald our doom

As I retreat from this dark place
The end begins
From these Mountains of Madness
And The City Within
